I lived in a garden level apartment, had lots of maintenance issues because of it, but that is to be expected. The maintenance is absolutely wonderful though, super timely and fixes the issues. Our air conditioner was an old unit that didn't really work. But had some friends upstairs who had a new air conditioner that worked just fine.
I would say it is worth the extra $50 to $100 a month to be out of the garden level if you can afford it, the units are significantly nicer and more updated. But... even if you are in the garden level you can at least sleep well knowing the maintenance staff will be helpful.

The management is the deal breaker for me. I just called and asked for a coherent explanation for the $200 non-refundable pet fee (NOT a security deposit), AND monthly $50 "pet rent" I pay for my two cats. I was told that the $500 dollars I have paid since February will NOT cover ANY damages done in my apartment; anything they decide my pets caused, I will somehow still have to pay out of pocket. In addition, there was a VOMIT COVERED RUG in the entryway to my apartment for TWO WEEKS earlier... this year, despite my three requests for maintenance to remove it. I eventually went down myself with rubber gloves and dragged it out to the dumpster.

I haven't been living here for long, but I love it already! The apartments are absolutely beautiful and everyone is super friendly here. It's close to MSU, which is very helpful for students. They're also pet friendly which is fantastic!

I did not live here I went here to check it out because it's down the street from campus so it was a good location. But of course location comes with a price and it was out of my budget. But when I toured I worked with Michael he was very nice and helpful and even referred us to a different property that was more in my budget. !
